Accton, Alvarion Reported to Form WiMAX JV

Taiwan-based Accton Technology has projected a mobile WiMAX joint venture with Israeli Alvarion, Taiwan's Economics Daily reported. The projected joint venture, named AcctonMAX, is capitalized at US$4.5 million. Accton is expected to control up to 80% of the new company, and Alvarion the remaining stake. AcctonMAX will concentrate on developing mobile WiMAX CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) and WiMAX base stations.
